Workshop at the Miasa Regional Development Conference

This time, I was invited by city officials from the Miasa Regional Development Council in Omachi City to hold a workshop and gibier cooking session (^○^)

This time, we received inquiries quite some time ago, which led to the event being held.

I think it was after we appeared on an NHK interview .
I remember receiving a call from an Omachi city employee and talking to him about various things regarding leather.
They appear to be in contact with Mersen Corporation in Iida City and the local cooperation volunteers who produced the Shinshu deer leather, and are making progress on various matters.

The Miasa area was also suffering from damage caused by harmful birds and animals, so they were trying to create a circular economy between leather and food.
Nagano Prefecture is the area that suffers the most damage from sika deer, and our goal is to work together with other regions to share local production and consumption activities.
This activity by Omachi City is wonderful, and it seems they will also be focusing on timber grown in the Miasa area in the future, so we can't take our eyes off them!!!

Now onto the main topic of the workshop.

The location is "Pokapoka Land Miyu" on the way to Hakuba
This event is held on Meat Day on January 29th, and as you can see, it's held in the cold mountains.

I grew up in Nagano City, so this is a road I've used to ride my motorcycle on since I was a child, and it's a very charming place rich in nature! It brings back memories!

First, I talked about the Shinshu Ethical Project and the deerskin material, and then Mr. Onodera, a local volunteer, went into more detail.
The theme is "Make, eat, and think," so it's also a chance to learn about and think about the damage caused by birds and animals (°▽°)

The workshop we prepared was a deerskin accordion coin purse. It has become a standard item at Groover Leather workshops, but the cute coin purse is still popular (^○^)

Making key chains for children to play with

The workshop participants, including reporters and city officials, ranged from small children to the elderly, and we even arranged for some impromptu workshops, which created a lot of excitement.

The children are also very warm and smile openly!
It was a normal thing, but it had a warmth that a middle school student rarely feels.

After everyone has enjoyed the workshop, we enjoyed some wild game dishes at Hana Mameya!

What a thing 😂
The photo here is from after we had cleaned up, and we left right away to open the store, so we forgot to take a photo💦

On the day, we were able to eat wild game curry from Hanamameya and wild game pasta from the local volunteer Onodera, which was also delicious! (No photos?)

By the way, Onodera-san will be in Hoshina, Wakaho-cho, Nagano City from March 21st.
Gibier Restaurant Ino-shika has opened in Nagano City, serving Shinshu gibier and homemade bread !

This is delicious!
I seriously recommend it!

I had curry and pasta, but I'm really curious about the ramen!
The special Chinese noodles will probably be my next stop!

If anyone has been there because of this blog, please let me know!
